Rotator Cuff Syndrome

Shoulder pain that won’t go away?

It could be rotator cuff syndrome.

Your rotator cuff is a group of 4 muscles and tendons that stabilize your shoulder and help you lift and rotate your arm. When these tissues become irritated or damaged, it can lead to pain, weakness, and limited movement.

About 15–30% of adults will experience rotator cuff–related shoulder pain at some point in their lives.

Under 40: relatively uncommon 40–60: increasingly common Over 60: very common (up to 50%+ may have some degree of rotator cuff damage, even without symptoms)

Your rotator cuff is made up of 4 small but powerful muscles that keep your shoulder stable and moving smoothly.

These muscles have the following functions:
  • Hold your arm securely in the joint
  • Help you lift and rotate your arm
  • Support everyday movements like reaching, lifting, and throwing
When these muscles aren’t working properly, pain and stiffness can quickly follow.

Rotator cuff problems don’t just happen overnight—there’s usually a build-up over time.

It’s often the small, everyday habits that lead to bigger issues.

Rotator cuff issues aren’t just about the shoulder—they’re often linked to how your joints and muscles are working together.

Whether your injury is new or old, Chiropractic treatment will lead to less pain, better function, and a faster return to the activities you enjoy.

Start with the basics.

Home care in combination with Chiropractic care will always lead to a better long term outcome.

Try this:
  • Rest (avoid painful movements)
  • If the injury is new; ice for 10–15 minutes to reduce inflammation
  • Gentle stretching
  • Focus on improving your posture

Start slow and keep it pain-free—consistency is key.

If it’s not improving, don’t push through it.

Healthy movement starts with a healthy shoulder 💪
